14 | BONHAMS Adapting the form of a double gourd, each bulb well hollowed, with a
concave dimple at the foot, the body of the vessel partially wrapped
with a brocade cloth, the stone an even yellow color with a few minute
black inclusions.

A WHITE AND RUSSET JADE SNUFF BOTTLE
1740-1820
Of compressed globular form, with a straight neck and flat lip,
supported by a rounded rectangular foot rim, one face with the
russet skin carved as five bats surrounding a stylized shou medallion,
reversed by two overlapping coins in low relief, the coins inscribed
“shi lu wan zhong” and “fu lu you tong”, the narrow sides with a long
inscription carved in intaglio.
