A RED OVERLAY ‘SNOWFLAKE’ GLASS SNUFF BOTTLE

Of compressed ovoid form, with a straight neck, flat lip, spreading
oval foot ring, fluidly carved through the cranberry-red overlay with two
dynamic chilong, each with finely incised mane and bifurcated tails,
against a ‘snowflake’ suffused semi-transparent ground.

A FINE CINNABAR LACQUER SNUFF BOTTLE
1800-1880
Built with a metal core, of flattened globular form, the side walls carved
with a continuous scene depicting figures at leisure in a landscape with
lush trees and rockwork, framed between wanzi patterns at neck and
vertical lappets surrounding an oval foot ring.
