The copper-red coloured glaze is often considered
one of the most difficult to fire, given that exact
kiln temperature conditions are needed in order
to achieve even rich red tones. Generally figured
in a reducing atmosphere, miscalculations in time
and technique often results in the copper glaze
turning grey or pale green. While the glaze on
the present lot is not even, with thinned areas on
the mouth rim and neck, it lends an unusual but

pleasing aesthetic which emphasizes the elegant
shape of the vase. The vase’s form is particularly
well proportioned, with the slightly flared neck
tapering down to the rounded body.

                    此瓶最早屬盧芹齋舊藏,於1941年11月1日至

                    產拍賣中賣出,編號679,傳承有序,來源清
