A VERY RARE AND UNUSUAL
BAMBOO HEXAGONAL ARMCHAIR
QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY
Of rare hexagonal shape, the mat seat is set within a
double-moulded frame below the rectangular back
formed from shaped and spindle panels in various tones
of bamboo and flanked by similarly decorated armrests.
The whole is raised on six legs inset with plain aprons
and shaped spandrels, and are joined by double low
stretchers at the sides.
