This figure is a fine example dating to the Late Nepalese Malla period,
when figures of deities were cast wearing more elaborate ornaments
and garments, which were often enriched with inlaid stones and
detailed floral scrolls.
See a related figure of Tara, 16th century, from Museum of Asian Art,
San Francisco, illustrated by U.von Schroeder, Indo Tibetan Bronzes,
Hong Kong, 1981, no.102G, p.381, showing similar treatment of the
jewellery, dhoti and flowing ribbons.
