           Probably India, 20th century
           Of typical form, with chiselled decoration of birds amidst trees in a
           landscape, within gold damascened border of scrolling vines, half pole
           medallions terminating in palmettes, cartouches containing inscription
           on each side, the butt incised with a floral motif surrounded by
           scrolling vines.

           Lucknow, India, late 19th century
           Decorated with a band of hunters, lions, elephants and other wild
           beasts in a hilly landscape with scrolling floral border above and
           acanthus leaf band below, in deep repoussÈ with chased details, base
           engraved with peacock within floral border.
           17cm high, weight 38.1ozt

           India, 19th/20th century
           Each formed in three sections, the wick trays surmounted by finials in
           the form of hamsa birds, one with engraved scrolling decoration to the
           central section.

           Each with hinged cover and profusely decorated with scrolling vegetal
           interlace and foliate motifs; one casket-shaped and raised on four
           spreading feet, 19.3cm x 13.3cm x 8cm; the other wood-lined and
           with monogram and motto of the Order of the Garter to lid.
           12.7cm x 10.2cm x 5.6cm (2).

           Persia, 19th century
           The first a pen box decorated with figural scenes, metal inkwell within
           and two tools; the second box of oval form decorated in polychrome
           with floral sprays with perching birds, the edge of the lid with a band
           of inscription; and a silver-inlaid Cairoware hamsa and two carved
           intaglios with inscriptions.
           The large box 25cm (4).
