QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
of square section with tapered sides supported on a
countersunk base, the exterior skilfully rendered in the round
with a dragon and a chilong clambering nimbly with their
heads resting on the rim, each of the beasts portrayed with a
long curling tail, the smoothly stone of a warm yellow colour
accentuated with light russet streaks, wood stand
