A LARGE CARVED AND MOULDED
LONGQUAN CELADON BARBED-
RIM DISH
EARLY MING DYNASTY,
15TH CENTURY
The dish is carved to the interior with a
barbed-rim cartouche enclosing flowers,
the fluted cavetto carved with a floral scroll,
covered overall with a thick sea-green glaze,
the base with an unglazed ring.

AND DOUBLE-VAJRA’ DISH
QIANLONG SIX-CHARACTER SEAL
MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND
OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795)
Of angular profile supported on a splayed
foot, the dish is painted on the interior with
a be-ribboned double-vajra encircled by
the Bajixiang, ‘Eight Buddhist Emblems’;
the outer mouth rim with a band of keyfret,
above a ring of petal lappets around the foot.
