    A MOULDED DING ‘LION’ DISH
    NORTHERN SONG-JIN DYNASTY (960-1234)

    The dish is moulded on the centre of the interior with a galloping lion pursuing a tasselled
    brocade ball amidst scrolling vines, the well with two chilong divided by cloud scrolls,
    between two bands of keyfret, covered overall with a dark ivory-toned glaze. The rim is
    mounted with metal.
