                        Of archaistic ding form, enamelled in green, yellow
                        and blue around the exterior with three foliate
                        meanders borne on a red blooming lotus at the
                        base, raised on three gilt-bronze spreading legs
                        issuing from mythical beast heads and surmounted
                        by two upright handles, the cover with a lingzhi
                        cluster finial, encircled by a narrow band of lappets
                        with a further row of scrolling foliage.

                        The gilt-bronze cup with raised enamel decoration
                        of a lotus, hydrangea, lily-of-the-valley, peony and
                        chrysanthemum flowers between stiff lappets at
                        the foot and a border of ruyi-head at the rim, the
                        interior enamelled turquoise.

                        Cast Qianlong seal mark and of the period
                        The vase divided into four decorative bands, the
                        foot and lowest band with geometric flowers
                        beneath scattered peony, prunus and other
                        flowering branches, beneath a band containing
                        seven spotted deer in a continuous rocky scene
                        variously drinking from streams and nibbling at pine
                        and peony, the upper band with six birds perching
                        on flowering prunus, chrysanthemum and peony
                        branches and set with two applied animal-mask
                        ring handles, the neck with four lotus blossoms
                        amid foliate scrolls.

                        清乾隆 掐絲琺瑯花鳥鹿紋雙獸耳瓶 陽文「大清乾隆
                        年製」篆書款
                        Provenance: acquired by Charles Wason McNay
                        (died 1913), the great grandfather of the present
                        owner. Charles Wason McNay was a native of
                        Glasgow but as a boy moved to Bo’ness on the
                        southern shore of the River Forth, which was
                        a thriving centre of pottery production. In 1887
                        McNay decided to leave the Bo’ness Pottery and
                        build his own pottery at Bridgeness.
                        來源:由現藏家的曾祖父Charles Wason McNay(
                        卒於1913年)購得。Charled Wason McNay生
                        於英國格拉斯哥,年少時移居到蘇格蘭福斯河的
                        南部 Bo’ness,一個擁有昌盛的陶瓷生產業的城
                        鎮。1887年,McNay離開Bo’ness,到Bridgeness
                        創立自己的陶瓷廠。
