A large pair of cloisonné enamel guardians
Late 19th century/ early 20th century
Each standing atop a tiered recessed pedestal colourfully enamelled
with ruyi and floral borders, the first wearing armour below flowing
wind-swept robes, the eyes picked out in black and white enamel,
with a wide-rimmed spiked helmet, holding a halberd in his right
hand; the second figure similarly enamelled, holding a wrapped
tribute box, surmounted by an ingot-shaped hat.
The taller 85cm (33½in) high overall (2).
