A famille verte ‘hundred boys’ vase and cover
19th century
The vase amusingly painted with a continuous scene of two
scholars, one writing in a book and the other playing a qin, and both
surrounded by numerous boys at play, variously dancing, practising
musical instruments, playing weiqi, performing a lion dance and
practising tai ch’i, all between borders of fretwork and the foot and
floral and ruyi-head designs at the neck, the cover also with five boys
in a rocky grove.
