A large famille verte ‘warriors’ fish bowl
19th century
Vibrantly enamelled with a continuous scene of five soldiers on
horseback variously armed with lances, an axe, maces, a spear, a
bow and arrows and long flowing headdress, accompanied by fierce
foot soldiers with banners and all pushing forward into battle against
another bearded foot soldier with an exotic headdress, all within a
rocky landscape with pine and wutong trees, below ruyi-shaped
panels at the shoulder and decorative bands at the rim, the interior
with five goldfish and water weed.
