                                                                      the inscriptions can be translated to ‘inkstick made and
                                                                      inspected by Cao Sugong (1615-1689)’ and ‘medicinal inkstick
                                                                      respectfully made and inspected by Cao Yunya’ respectively,
                                                                      decorated overall with gold pigments
