                            one of the popular interpretations in the Kathmandu Valley of
                            the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara. Compare a copper figure of

                            lot 1048; and a larger example with stone inlays, attributed to
                            the early Malla period, included in the exhibition Buddha-2000
