WANLI SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN
A DOUBLE CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD (1573-1619)
The slightly domed box cover is decorated with a scene of a scholar on a
cloud. The sides of the box are each decorated with a shaped panel enclosing
mythical beasts amongst clouds, all reserved on a geometric ground.
