the panelled backsplat with an openwork ruyi
form upper panel, the seat with curvilinear
front apron above a stepped footrest, brass

A HUANGHUALI FOLDING CHAIR
20th century
With horseshoe shaped top rail descending
to outward sweeping arm rests, the gently
curving back splat carved in relief with a
stylised chilong panel below a smaller carved
foliate panel, the rear legs rising to a curved
lower arm rest enclosing chilong spandrels,
the front seat section with a further chilong
apron, with brass mounts.
