of triangular shape, finely embroidered in shades of blue
and cream silk threads with a large scaly five-clawed dragon
in pursuit of a flaming pearl amidst ruyi-head cloud scrolls
and bats, the reverse with a ten-character inscription Xiao
zhangcun Guandi Miao, Xianfeng yuan nian (which may be
translated as ‘Temple of Guandi, first year of Xianfeng’)
