A RARE CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL AND GILT-BRONZE EWER AND COVER
Late Ming dynasty
The body in the form of a bell rising to a stepped shoulder, ribbed cylindrical
neck and terminating in an everted rim, set with a curved spout opposite
a scroll handle terminating in a ruyi-head, both gilt, the body decorated
with bands of meandering lotus scroll on a turquoise ground, below a
meandering floral band to the shoulder and neck on respective blue and
green grounds, the domed cover surmounted with a gilt knop.
