the ovoid body rising from a short splayed foot to
a tall cylindrical neck with a lipped rim, brightly
decorated with four large stylized lotus blossoms
borne on formal scrolls, below two registers of
alternating ! orets issuing similar foliate scrolls,
the foot encircled with a band of upright ruyi
heads and a row of dots, the gilt base incised with
a four-character mark and a zuo character taken
from the Thousand Character Classic

vine-form legs, the cover naturalistically cast as
three gourd leaves and surmounted by a tendril-
form # nial, the body decorated with champlevé
