                                                                      QING DYNASTY, KANGXI PERIOD
                                                                      the cylindrical body spiritedly painted in bright tones of cobalt
                                                                      blue with two qilin, in mutual gaze, each standing on a rocky
                                                                      promontory emerging from roiling, cresting waves, above an
                                                                      open-beaked bird soaring low in search of prey, the neck with
                                                                      a single raised ! llet and a series of crenellated, scroll and ruyi-
                                                                      head borders
