LATE 18TH-19TH CENTURY

清十八/十九世紀 鼻煙壺一組七件

The group comprises: a thumbprint grey and white agate snuf bottle; a
banded grey and white agate snuf bottle; a moss agate snuf bottle; a
rock crystal square snuf bottle; a rock crystal globular snuf bottle; a small
malachite snuf bottle; and a red glass snuf bottle.

1019 The rounded snuf bottle is decorated with a scene of Zhong Kui travelling with
his sister, accompanied by demons, it is dated and signed by the artist with one
TWO CRYSTAL INSIDE-PAINTED SNUFF BOTTLES AND A seal. Each bottle of the conjoined snuf bottle is decorated with a foral scene
GLASS INSIDE-PAINTED SNUFF BOTTLE to one side and a poem and signed to the reverse, with one seal. The slender
THE ROUNDED SNUFF BOTTLE, SIGNED YE ZHONGSAN, DATED snuf bottle is painted with a bird perched on a branch to one side and a four
CHONGYANG OF JIHAI YEAR, CORRESPONDING TO THE NINTH DAY line poem to the reverse which is dated winter of bingchen year, and signed
OF THE NINTH MONTH OF 1899 with one seal.
