A PALE CELADON JADE ARCHAISTIC VASE AND COVER
19TH CENTURY
清十九世紀 青白玉仿古饕餮紋獸耳獅鈕蓋瓶
The vase is of fattened form and is carved in low relief to each side of the body with an archaistic taotie
design, below a band of stif leaves. The neck is carved with stylised animal-head handles and the cover
is surmounted by a lion-form fnial. The stone is of an even pale tone with a few minor pale mottled
inclusions.
