A GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF TSONGKHAPA (1357-1419)
18TH CENTURY

清十八世紀 鎏金銅宗喀巴坐像

The fgure is seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base with his hands in dharmachakramudra, with
lotus stems rising at both shoulders supporting the Sword of Knowledge and the Book of Wisdom. He is
clad in heavy robes with incised hems and his head is topped with a cap.
