A BLUE-GROUND INFORMAL ROBE
LATE 19TH CENTURY
清十九世紀末 青石地繡團葫蘆女袍
The robe is embroidered with large decorative
roundels enclosing gourds, peaches, lingzhi
and bats holding wan symbols. The ground is
interspersed with scattered peach sprays, all
above auspicious symbols within foaming lishui
waves.

The frst is decorated with gilt thread with orchid
roundels above auspicious symbols in lishui waves. 639
The second is decorated with a central shou
roundel surrounded by auspicious symbols and a
wan border. The third is decorated with dragons
chasing the faming pearl, all amongst ruyi-cloud
