Buddha sits in dhyanasana with the hands held in vajramudra before The fgure sits in dhyanasana on a lotus base with his right hand raised
the chest. He is dressed in voluminous robes, and the serene face is in vitarkamudra and his left held in his lap. He is dressed in heavy,
surmounted by a tall, columnar ushnisha. voluminous robes that are secured at the left shoulder with a cord and
14º in. (36.2 cm.) high quatrefoil ring. His full face is serene, with downcast eyes and long,
pendulous earlobes, and the hair is in spiky curls over the ushnisha,
$8,000-12,000 which is fronted by a circular knob. A dated inscription, Longqing
wunian sanyue zao (‘made in the third month of the ffth year of the

legible names of the donors, are inscribed on the back of the base.
