A RARE PAIR OF FAMILLE ROSE VASES WITH THE EIGHT IMMORTALS
XIANFENG SIX-CHARACTER MARKS IN IRON RED AND OF THE PERIOD (1851-1861)
The vases are fnely decorated with eight petal-shaped panels, each enclosing a Daoist
immortal in a landscape, all on a lime-green ground decorated with lotus scroll above a row of
gilt shou-character medallions at the foot, and incorporating peaches below the out-turned rim
molded and decorated as eight ruyi heads.
