A YELLOW-GLAZED MOLDED
ARCHAISTIC RITUAL FOOD VESSEL AND
COVER, GUI
GUANGXU PERIOD (1875-1908)
Of oblong section, the vessel is decorated
with bands of archaistic motifs, has a pair of
loop handles surmounted by dragon heads,
and is raised on a pedestal base with domed
lower section. The domed cover is decorated
en suite and in the center with a foliated
dragon amidst clouds surrounded by four
upright fanges with scalloped edges. The
vessel is covered overall with a glaze of deep
yellow color.

at Christie’s New York, 15 September 2009, lot
385 and 22-23 March 2011, lot 2109.
