A SMALL COPPER OPENWORK
HANDWARMER AND COVER
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The warmer is of a compressed melon section which
is cast with deep grooves to create a hexalobed shape.
The slightly domed cover is intricately cast with a
pierced design of a diapered ground of geometric
quatrefoil florettes. The base is incised with a four-
character seal mark reading Zhang Mingqi zhi (made
by Zhang Mingqi) enclosed within a rectangular
cartouche.
