NORTHERN SONG / JIN DYNASTY
of broad-shouldered ovoid form rising to a short neck with
lipped rim, the body set to either side with a pair of ridged
strap handles, all resting on a short, ared foot, covered
overall in a lustrous dark-brown glaze thinning to varying
russet tones at the rim, handles and lower sections of the body
and stopping unevenly in thick droplets above the unglazed
base

the deep rounded sides rising from a short slightly tapered
foot to a narrow groove below the rim, covered overall with a
lustrous black glaze, thinning at the rim with extensive russet
streaks extending downwards, the glaze stopping short above
the foot to reveal the purplish-brown stoneware body
