SGRAFFIATO VASE

the slender ovoid body rising from a recessed
base to a short waisted neck with a lipped rim,
freely incised to the body with two rows of
alternating chrysanthemum blossoms borne
on undulating leafy stems, between a band of
overlapping petals encircling the base and foliate
scrolls around the shoulder, all reserved on a
‘pearl’ ground, covered overall with a transparent
glaze save for the base left unglazed to reveal the
reddish-brown stoneware body
