                    QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY

                    sturdily-potted with rounded sides and lipped
                    rim, painted in varying tones of underglaze blue
                    in ‘heaped and piled’ technique, the central
                    medallion with a oral meander, the stylized
                    blooms borne on narrow stems with twisting
                    leaves within a classic scroll band, the cavetto
                    with a similar band of scrolling owers, all
                    enclosed by a keyfret border, repeated to the
                    underside, the base and foot rim unglazed

                    QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY

                    of ovoid shape rising to a lipped rim, the body
                    engraved with a continuous foliate meander of
                    lotus owers borne on undulating leafy stems,
                    set between bands of ruyi and keyfret around the
                    shoulder and upright lappets encircling the base,
                    all under a white glaze of faint bluish tint
                    Height 7⅝ in., 19.3 cm
