been passionate for life and kind to everyone. She is eighty-eight years old and she is
still enthusiastic to learn new things. Her braveness, independence, kindness are my
strengths.
The final part I save for my husband Weibing, who is my best friend and my soul
mate. Every day, I feel grateful to have him in my life. He changed me into a better
person. He has a beautiful heart, an open mind and a passion for life. He knows me
better than I do, he loves me more than I do, and he gives more strength than I do. We
have been separated during the last five years while I am pursuing my MA and Ph.D.
in the UK and he works in Lyon, but he is always there whenever and wherever I need
him. I dedicate this thesis to him; without him I could not have made it through.
