A LARGE GILT WOOD STANDING AMITABHA BUDDHA
18th/19th century
The figure wearing monastic robes open at the chest and draping
across both shoulders, the hands in amida mudra, before an
elaborately carved cloud scroll mandorla, standing upon an open
lotus flower base, amongst a dense profusion of swirling clouds, the
stepped base carved with panels of striding karashishi.

CABINET
Joseon Dynasty, 19th century
Of rectangular form, with a hinged cover and inner tray, the two
small doors opening to reveal two sliding drawers, the exterior with
numerous elaborately engraved gilt metal mounts and lock plates,
some with pierced swastika roundels, set on cabriole legs with shaped
aprons. 28.5cm (11.1/4in) high x 33.5cm (13.1/4in) long x 23cm (9in)
wide.
