INCISED ‘DRAGON’ SAUCER DISHES
Tongzhi six-character marks and of the period
Each shallow dish finely incised to the well
with a pair of writhing five-clawed dragons
surrounding a flaming pearl, the exterior with
black-enamelled grape vines, all covered in an
unusual lemon yellow glaze. Each: 13.2cm (5
1/8in) diam. (2).

Guangxu six-character marks and of the
period
Each shallow dish enamelled with twenty-five
bats in flight, raised on a short foot rim with a
key fret border. Each: 15.6cm (6 1/8in) diam.

A GILT AND IRON-RED ENAMELLED
‘DRAGON’ STEM BOWL
Wu lin jing cheng tang wang zizhi eight-
character mark, 19th century
Rising to a shallow foliate mouth rim, the
exterior finely enamelled with two five-clawed
dragons contesting a flaming pearl amongst
clouds; together with a famille rose lobed
‘lotus’ tazza, enamelled to the flaring foot with
bats amongst waves, 19th century. 11.5cm (4
1/2in) high (2).

The mark 武林敬承堂汪自製 can be
translated as ‘Made by Wangzi of Wulin
