A PAIR OF LARGE ‘HUNDRED BOYS’ EMBROIDERED PANELS
18th/19th century
The dark blue ground finely woven in shades of coloured silk with
a repeating pattern of boys holding lotus flowers and Buddhist
implements, the upper frieze with confronting phoenix in a garden of
flowering peonies and rockwork, below bands of lotus meander and
sinuous dragons flanking a flaming pearl, framed and glazed.
Each: 76cm (29 3/4in) x 227cm (89 3/8in). (2).
