A WHITE JADE ‘SCHOLARS’ GROUP
18TH CENTURY
One side is carved with a bearded scholar dressed in fowing robes followed by an
attendant holding a lingzhi stem atop a rocky plinth, the reverse carved in high relief
and undercut with a gnarled prunus tree. The stone is of even white tone.
