AN UNUSUAL AUBERGINE, GREEN AND
2200 YELLOW-GLAZED ‘DRAGON’ BOWL
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)

The exterior is decorated with two fve-
clawed dragons racing amidst clouds above
a band of petal lappets, all in aubergine
detailed in black on a bright green ground,
while the interior and rim are covered with a
glaze of rich egg yolk-yellow color. A Jiajing
six-character mark in underglaze blue within
a double circle is on the base.

A COPPER-RED-GLAZED STEM BOWL
QIANLONG SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK IN
UNDERGLAZE BLUE IN A LINE AND OF THE PERIOD
(1736-1795)
The bowl with rounded sides that fare
towards the rim is raised on a conical foot
and is covered inside and out with a glaze
of dark crushed-strawberry-red color below
the white rim. The mark is in a line inside
the foot
