                                                                  Sa buff-colored body material. The iron glaze stops about
                                                                  three centimeters above the foot. Smudges of glaze left by the
                                                                  fingers of the glazer can be seen on the exposed body.

                                                                  It has been suggested that this type of jar was used for serv-
                                                                  ing soups or stews. 1
