with Japanese gold lacquer. The bowl is completely glazed
and fired on three silica chips, the scars of which can be seen
on the base.
The press-mold used to decorate this bowl must have been
past its prime at the time of the bowl’s manufacture. The
designs are faint and generally unrecognizable. However,
