elatively sparsely decorated, this bowl has a stylized
                                                             Rgrass-like design on the inside of the bowl, just below
                                                             the lip, followed by four evenly spaced bunches of three ly-
                                                             chees. Two concentric rings encircle the bottom of the well.
                                                             The outside of the bowl is decorated by four equally spaced
                                                             chrysanthemum flowers enclosed within double  rings,  all
                                                             contained within two sets of double lines that run around the
                                                             circumference of the bowl. The base and footrim are glazed.
                                                             The scars from three silica chips can be seen on the base.

           Bowl                                              The technique of inlaying celadon started in Korea around
           13th century, Goryeo                              the middle of the twelfth century and is one of the mile-

                                                             brushed into the depression and allowed to dry. The surface
                                                             of the clay body was then scraped with a tool to remove the
                                                             excess slip, and the vessel was then glazed, dried, and fired.

                                                             Lychees symbolize the wish for establishing sons, for male
                                                             heirs continued the family line. Bowls of this form were
                                                             probably used for consuming liquids.
