Tand has a well-defined lip. It is painted with peony and
vegetal scroll motifs throughout the body. The base is glazed;
the recessed footrim is unglazed.
The decoration and shape of this waste receptacle were cop-
ied from contemporary Chinese wares. Although a faithful
copy of a Chinese design, the painting is applied in a less
restricted, Korean fashion with minimal outlines and leaves
