              decorated with a broad band of leiwen and
              a single beast head handle to one side, cast
              mark under spout.

              乾隆三年仲冬吉旦製

              Which may be translated as ‘Made on an
              auspicious morning in the second month of
              winter in the third year of the Qianlong reign’.

              no. 1957,0226.1

              The first censer tripod feet and upright loop
              handles, the second large censer with a
              splayed foot and strap handles, both with
              apocryphal Xuande six-character marks.
              The largest: 31cm (12 1/4in) wide (2).
