AN UNUSUAL OCTAGONAL DENDRITIC CHALCEDONY SNUFF Octagonal-shaped bottles are a well-established and accepted
BOTTLE Imperial form. It was derived from the shape of imported European

Of faceted octagonal shape with convex oval panels on each main commonly in Imperially-marked glass examples from both the
face, one with a small dark inclusion, the other with a scattering of eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, and less frequently in Qianlong-
dark inclusions possibly suggestive of shoaling fish; stopper. marked enamels on glass and in a variety of other media. The same
1 1/2in (4cm) high octagonal form can either be left with faceted panels on each main
side or oval panels like this, and both the shape and size can be
$3,500 - 5,500 widely varied, but the essential idea remains constant of panels on an
octagonal profile.
