           Gil and Rosalie Small
Robert Kleiner, The Gil and Rosalie Small Collection, 30 March 2006

           Exhibited:
International Chinese Snuff Bottle Society Convention, New York, 5-9
           November 2013, no. 119

For another compressed beige-colored glass bottle with lion-mask
handles, see Christie’s, New York, Important Chinese Snuff Bottles
           from the J & J Collection, Part V, 17 September 2008, lot 71. In our
bottle, the bottle appears to be imitating jade or agate, a conceit at
the eighteenth-century Court, that took pleasure in recreating more
precious materials in the medium of glass.
