at battle below the ramparts of a walled city, perhaps Beijing, on one
main face below the signature, and with ranks of soldiers in a rocky Little is known of Li Shouchang who appears to have been amongst
landscape to the other; stopper. the earlier followers of Zhou Leyuan. Whilst not a painter of the finest
2 3/4in (7cm) high details, he does display a quirky charm and his images have a folk-art
quality to them. According to the previously noted Sotheby’s catalogue
$1,800 - 2,200 of the Bloch Collection, he has a small repertoire of surviving bottles,
perhaps numbering only seven or eight.
