brightly painted to the interior with a composite floral scroll
repeated at the rim, the exterior similarly decorated with a
floral frieze between classic scroll borders

ARCHAISTIC BOTTLE VASE
QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY
with a bulbous body supported on a flared foot and
sweeping up to a long tubular neck, moulded with a
central band of archaistic motifs against a ribbed ground
of bamboo branches and further layers of overlapping
bamboo encircling the neck and foot, applied overall with a
translucent celadon glaze save for the base
