A MUGHAL-STYLE EMBELLISHED WHITE
JADE OVAL BOX AND COVER
18TH-19TH CENTURY
The cover is fnely carved in low relief with a
central fower head embellished with semi-
precious stone ‘jewels’ and surrounded by a formal
design of scrolling acanthus leaves within an
outer acanthus leaf border above further ‘jewels’
on the sides. The sides of the box are similarly
decorated with acanthus leaves. The stone is
semi-translucent and of white color.
