blooms in bright enamels and gilt, the neck
with smaller landscape panels with animals
below ruyi-shaped foliate design bands, all
upon a black ground with scrolling foliage

Each of barrel form, with interlocking pierced
double-coin motifs and moulded bands of
bosses, depicting garden scenes with ladies
in boats gathering lotus flowers, fishing,
ladies tending gentlemen in elegant pavilion
interiors and figures arriving on horse and ox-
back, within archaistic dragon fret and floral
borders, the seat surface with scholars in a
landscape.
