清十九世紀初 白玉雕獸耳活環龍鈕蓋瓶
of slender baluster form with a subtly stepped foot and galleried rim, the neck set with a pair of loop handles issuing from beast
masks and each suspending a loose ring, the domed cover with an elaborate openwork finial in the form of a coiled, sinuous four-
clawed dragon lifting its head and roaring, the stone a translucent milky white, wood stand (3)

Catalogue Note
The refined form of the present vase, with its elegant contours and lack of surface ornamentation, focuses attention on the purity
of the milky white stone and employs the restrained aesthetic that continued from the Qianlong Emperor's reign into the
subsequent century. For a Qianlong period white jade precedent with the same handles and knop, but with the slender baluster
body set over a waisted foot, see one sold in our Hong Kong rooms, 29th April 1992, lot 616; a related white jade example with a
